"The DNA affair" presented here shows the main DNA springs or spirals in the adventures of Tintin with a possible secret code written on the Inca's stone gate in "Prisoners of the Sun" (p.61).

In 2001, an idea came to me very suddendly :

"Are there DNA signs in the adventures of Tintin ?" (1).

How these DNA signs could be drawn by Hergé, the father of Tintin ? (2).

In fact, I discovered these signs while opening the albums. They were quite numerous and important for Tintin to solve his investigation.

These DNA signs are symbolized by different spirals, springs (3) with secondary signs such as ladders, spiral staircases... (4).

When Tintin and his two friends "meet " the "DNA", it is always a shock, similar to a N.D.E (Near Death Experience) (5).

(4) You find these signs* quite easily in many albums of Hergé, even before the discovery of the DNA structure in 1953. Of course, Hergé was not aware of this and did not drink ayahuasca ! Nevertheless, he fed his thoughts with constant scientific documents**.

His search about a family secret and his possible noble origin were an incentive to solve this secret***. Like a shaman, Hergé navigates in his mind****, helped by Tintin and his friends !

* If you read Martin Brookes' book "Get a grip on genetics" 1999, the DNA is symbolized by a spiral or spring and a ladder ! ("Tout ce que vous vouliez savoir sur la génétique" for the book in french (p.p 74-76).

** In 1933 yet, in a weekly children's comic strip "Le Petit Vingtième", Hergé drew a professor talking about "Synchronisation...molécule...hélicoïdale...physico-chimiste" (I don't translate !).

(5) To meet the DNA seems to be "easier" while drinking ayahuasca. You can get a kind of N.D.E too !
